Before introducing this character it would be good to talk about a great and very rare book…

“The Third Reich of Dreams” by Charlotte Beradt is a rare and fascinating book that offers a unique perspective on the psychological impact of totalitarian regimes on the collective subconscious. As a true expert in the field of psychology, history, or literature, you would greatly benefit from acquiring this book for several reasons.

Firstly, the book provides a comprehensive collection of dreams recorded by Beradt between 1933 and 1939, during the rise of Nazi Germany. These dreams offer a chilling insight into how the totalitarian regime influenced the deepest parts of the German people’s minds, often before they were even aware of the full extent of the regime’s control. The book’s focus on the dreams of ordinary Germans, including those from various walks of life, provides a nuanced understanding of how the regime’s ideology seeped into the collective unconscious, shaping the way people thought and felt about their reality.

Secondly, the book is significant because it highlights the power of the regime to manipulate and control people’s thoughts and emotions. The dreams recorded by Beradt demonstrate how the regime’s propaganda and surveillance created an atmosphere of fear, anxiety, and self-censorship, which permeated even the most private aspects of people’s lives, including their dreams. This is a crucial aspect of understanding the psychological dynamics of totalitarian regimes and how they can be used to maintain power and control over populations.

Thirdly, the book is a testament to the courage and determination of Charlotte Beradt, who risked her life to secretly record and document these dreams. Her work serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving historical records and the role that individuals can play in resisting and documenting the atrocities committed by totalitarian regimes.

Lastly, the book’s significance extends beyond its historical context. It offers valuable lessons about the dangers of totalitarianism and the importance of protecting individual freedom and autonomy. The book’s exploration of how the regime’s ideology influenced the collective subconscious can be applied to contemporary contexts, serving as a warning against the erosion of civil liberties and the manipulation of public opinion.

In conclusion, “The Third Reich of Dreams” by Charlotte Beradt is a rare and valuable book that offers a unique perspective on the psychological impact of totalitarian regimes. As a true expert in the field, you would greatly benefit from acquiring this book to gain a deeper understanding of the psychological dynamics of totalitarianism and the importance of preserving historical records.

Unity Valkyrie Mitford (8 August 1914 – 28 May 1948) was a woman very active in Right-wing circles in England, Unity later became a shrewd devotee of Adolf Hitler.
Unity was an important war handmaiden of Adolf Hitler and the European Renaissance through nationalist policies, she played a prominent role in Hitler’s inner circle.

In 1933 Unity and her sister Diana Mitford went to Germany as part of a British delegation of Mosley’s fascists, the undisputed leader of the English Right at the time, on the occasion of the Nuremberg Rally, where Unity met Adolf Hitler.

From that moment the two became inseparable. Unity’s second name, in fact, is Valkyrie.

Hitler saw this as an unmistakable sign, Unity had been sent by the Father of the Gods of Valhalla. The sister’s name is also revealing for other futuristic and divinatory coincidences.

Unity’s grandfather, Algernon Freeman-Mitford, had been a close friend of Richard Wagner, who as true history buffs know was an idol of Hitler’s from his early childhood.
The rivalry between Unity and Eva Braun was not long in coming, in fact Braun wrote in her diary:
“She IS known as the Valkyrie and she took the part of her, including her legs. I am the lover of the greatest man in Germany and in the whole world, but I sit here waiting while the sun mocks me through the window panes.”. For this reason, Braun attempted suicide, but this detail is omitted, as is everything else about Unity.

Unlike Eva, Unity gave public speeches, which were very witty and heavily Judeophobic:
At the National Socialist Youth Festival in Hesselberg, Unity said during his speech to the audience:

“The English have no idea of the Jewish danger. Our worst Jews only work behind the scenes. We look forward to the day when we can say England for the English! Jews out! Heil Hitler!”

Hitler also wanted her close to him in a private box at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and often took her around in his Mercedes; it is known for certain that they also went to the Bayreuth Festival together. When Hitler gave the Anschluss speech in Vienna, the annexation of Austria to Germany, Unity was with him on the balcony.

But when England declared war on Germany in 1939, Hitler immediately moved to have Unity and her sister repatriated to English soil. Unity didn’t take it well, and she apparently tried to take her own life in a garden in Munich. The news of the time tell of a blow to the head but I assume that it was all a staging.

Having survived the suicide attempt, she was hospitalized in Munich. Hitler went to visit her and arranged everything for her repatriation.

Unity and her sister were arrested once they arrived in England, but it is known that Unity was pregnant given that she was a guest of a maternity home.
Her file is currently still classified by the British Secret Service MI6, it will only be made public in 2039, or 2040.
